Add a colored gradient and other effects to your Home Screen’s Dock with Navale

Apple isn’t known for giving users flexible options for changing their operating system aesthetic, which is something that jailbreakers have been taking advantage of for quite some time.

Continuing that tradition is a free jailbreak tweak called Navale by iOS developers LacertosusDeus and b4db1r3. The tweak was recently updated to version 3.0 with full support for rootless jailbreaks like Dopamine and palera1n, enabling more jailbreakers to use it.

As you can see for yourself in the screenshot example above, Navale lets you apply gradient colors to the Home Screen’s Dock for a more pronounced effect that pops, especially against certain wallpaper types.

Navale users can pick between horizontal or vertical gradients, choose their colors, add or remove borders, and override the native corner radius, among other things.

Once installed, Navale adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to your liking:

Things you can do here include:

  • Apply the tweak to a floating Dock
  • Choose between horizontal or vertical gradient
  • Adjust the gradient via a slider
  • Choose the first color via color picker
  • Choose the second color via color picker
  • Flip the gradient
  • Toggle overriding of the corner radius
  • Configure the corner radius via a slider
  • Choose a border color via color picker
  • Configure the border strength via a slider
  • Respring your device to save all changes

With the Dock being such an integral part of the iPhone’s Home Screen, it’s easy to see why so many people like to customize it. Fortunately, the Navale jailbreak tweak makes that goal as effortless as possible while resulting in a nice visual effect that you’ll enjoy looking at each day.

If you’re interested in giving Navale a try for yourself, then you can download it for free from b4db1r3’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports rootless jailbreak running iOS & iPadOS 15 and later.

If you aren’t using b4db1r3’s personal repository just yet, then you can add it to your package manager all by using the URL provided below:
